    I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Computer Science at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I am currently doing research in the Social Spaces group, advised by Prof. Karrie Karahalios. My research interests are in healthcare, social visualization, and assistive technology.

Research Assistant Fall 2016 - present

University of Illinois Urbana Champaign – Champaign, IL

  • Worked with special education professors and graduate students to develop a Family Behavior Support app (FBSapp) to address challenging behaviors of children.

Research Intern Summer 2016, 2017

Adobe Creative Technologies Lab – San Francisco, CA

  • Studied frames and slants in visualization titles and how they affect visualization interpretation.
  • Studied presenters’ preferences and uses of visual cues that guide the audience’s attention to a particular area of a visualization. Developed a visual cue taxonomy and a visual cue webtool (VisualQ).

Teaching Assistant Fall 2013 - 2015
